Camilla Van Liew - Veterinarian

Dr. Camilla Van Liew is a 1998 graduate of Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.

Raised in California, she has called Charleston home since 2001. The move east was to support her brother’s efforts to race in “The Around Alone,” a solo circumnavigational yacht race. Soon after her relocation, she began caring for patients at West Ashley Veterinary Clinic.

Dr. Van Liew’s professional interests include a strong background in abdominal ultrasound and a desire to provide quality and compassionate care for her patients and clients. She feels that ultrasound and other imaging modalities should be part of the comprehensive services available to clients.

Outside the hospital, she is an avid equestrian in the sport of dressage. Dartesch, a 2008 Dutch Warmblood gelding, is her current partner in the sport. When he was just six years old, he and Dr. Van Liew were successful at the National Young Horse Finals in Chicago, Illinois. As a competitor, Dr. Van Liew has won Champion and Reserve Champion titles at the USDF Regional Finals and qualified for the National Dressage Finals in Lexington, Kentucky. She is supported in her endeavors by the clinic, her husband, and “the girls,” her mixed-breed rescue dog named Bess, and her Jack Russell terrier named Chloe. Ollie, the sweetest orange tabby kitty, is happy to hold down the fort.
